Other (Non RPG) games
« on: September 10, 2013, 01:14:44 PM »
It's time to admit it. I have become completely addicted to 'tabletop'. If you haven't seen it, it's on youtube (just search tabletop). It is hosted by Wil Wheton and each week he plays a different table top game.

I have to admit that there is not one game I have seen played on this program that I haven't wanted to buy. I've just ordered 'gloom' a card game where you have to make you family as miserable as possible before killing them off, and I thought I'd ask, what other (non RPG) games do you love?

Hmmm...the old Squad Leader series would be one. Played a fair amount of both Wooden Ships & Iron Men and Harpoon some years back. Played some Star Fleet Battles once upon a time, too. These days I dabble with things like Bloody April, Nightfighter, and Bomber Command, all by GMT games.

I like Descent, even though the game mechanics are not always well rounded. My minis are still waiting to get painted. ;D

Agricola, Colloseum, Pillars of the Earth, Fresco, Marco Polo, Settlers of Catan (board and card games), Carcassone, The Knights of the Round Table, Arkham Horror, Battlestar Galactica, Battlelore, Memoir 44, Battles of Westeros, A Ticket to Ride, Small World, Fluxx (original ICE's edition and Zombie Fluxx), Robo-Rallye, and so many others I played.

In my family, my mother, one of my sisters, and I are enthousiasts boardgamers.  :o

We tend to play a lot of table top games like Ascension, all of the super hero Ascension type games, Setters of Catan, Thunderstone, and many many more.

Yes! I, too, play wargames. I play Advanced Squad Leader on a regular basis, about once a week. Love it!

Yes the 3 Nuke games are great, even if you do not turn them into drinking games.

Currently Dominion (just got Guilds) and Lords of Waterdeep (just got Skullport). Also playing the various Carcassone and Catan games plus fans of the various Ticket to Ride edits. Love two old-time TimJim Games - Fast Food Franchise and Outpost. My wife just got an expansion for 2nd Ed Descent that she'll spring on us. And sometimes we haul out Runebound to set up and play for a bit.

I'm addicted to Setters of Catan.

Is that an expansion pack?
