I loved RPGing on Mythic Greece. My GM on that venture also GMed his own version of "The Return of the King" adventure. My character was the main character on the "Return" venture.
Sadly, that GM died from
Cystic Fibrosis just as we were getting ready for his "Return."
He was born with a version that should have meant his death by the age of 20-24. However, his parents were loaded and the treatments he was receiving meant he did not die until age 35. Basically, he died maybe only one more year of RPGing before completing his "Return" venture. And, sadly, he truly wanted to complete that venture.
It, literally, still brings tears to my eyes that he was never to see a venture completed that he GMed. And I still have that character's notebook in honor of his attempt...
Aaron Alston, you will be missed. Thanks for all your work.

P.S. - Aaron's death also makes me realize how old I am. It seems all the old "heroes" of RPG are now passing away. When does my time come?
