Title: Arms Law Questions
Post by: Cpt Tiberius J. Krik on May 22, 2022, 04:43:39 PM
This first question is more an observation. I've caught quite a few errors in the text and I'm only on page 29. For example...

Page 29: "Melee Range: A melee combatant move and in a 5’ radius."

Doesn't make sense.

Has anyone compiled an errata doc. for AL?

Does anyone not use the Initiative system in AL? I'm going through it but I am definitely going to have to go through it again.

We used to use it when we played RM2 for years, but I haven't used it for decades.

Never used the official initiative system.

1 - declare actions and OB/DB split
2 - roll initiative, highest goes first.
We used the temp average of Memory (eloquence) and quickness + open ended d100.

Ditto.  The method presented in the core books is too convoluted and over-complicated.

I believe there is a simplified initiative in RMC-III?

I believe there is a simplified initiative in RMC-III?

The Companions offered multiple alternative initiative/action systems, beginning with Companion I. But if you are talking specifically about simplified initiative, then yes, Companion III, p. 17, simplifies it so that all actions are treated the same and highest goes first. (This is similar to what RMU does too).
