One of my players bought it for some kind of novelty value. It actually works fairly well, with the exception of the fact that from where I am sat at the table, I can't quite see the roll, due to the clear plastic distorting the view of the inner die.
The rolls seem random enough, nothing untoward.
Personally, not the kind of thing I would use as I have had my own favorite set for decades.
Some of my players don't have favorites, others use specific dice for specific characters, i.e., the player with the Necromancer character uses real bone dice.
