Another Rule Question... Sorrry guys
« on: September 13, 2011, 02:25:19 AM »
Ok... I've seen the "Official Ruling" about Magical Bonus' not being cumulative with other Non magical Bonus'...

However....

In Treasure Companion Page 42 under section 8.4.8 Weapons it says "[Magical Weapons] have higher OB bonuses than a normal item made from the same material...

Since some material bonuses are quite high... up to 25 that I've seen...  both cannot be true...

If someone can help here.... I think it's a similar situation like last time... I HAVE to be missing something.....  I just can't figure out what it is

I thought it was possible for a weapon to have a magical bonus LOWER than the material/craftmanship bonus. If, for instance, a weapon is +10 normal and +5 magical, you'd usually use it as a+10 normal weapon, but when fighting large/superlarge creatures, or creatures that require magical weapons to hit, you'd use it as a +5 magic weapon. I'm pretty sure I've seen such weapons, but don't recall where.

Never mind... I found the answer by reading thru the alchemy spells...

Item must be +0 (Iron) to recieve +5 Magical bonus

+5 to recieve +10... etc...

The only exceptions to that are certain bonding spells, as with the armsmaster or warrior mage.

 I agree also.

And has a House Rule I allow them to stack. Yes this makes the list powerful but IMHO the list also has drawbacks to it.
