Is it possible to allow some players to use the standard combat (core development for weapons, no styles, no maneuvers) and let the others who want to read combat companion design and use combat styles in the same game?

I would either use the CC or not use the CC.
As a GM I prefer to make up the combat styles myself to prevent any abuse by players.
Also the CC radically alters the DP cost of weapon's so it can have a big impact on a PC design.
