How Long Does it take to Activate A Q-Drive

I was wondering how long does it take to activate the Quantum Drive in game? Do you just turn it on? Does it have to warm up?


 IMHO I think it is always on but you have to engage the drive to work. But before you engage the Q-Drive you have to (should) do a sensor scan to see what is out there that you might hit, or might hit you.

Officially, it takes a negligible amount of time.  There's no official stance on if it needs to be on an idling in the background to work.

In my Universes drives take as long as necessary to engage, by which I mean that it's your universe you can set your own limits. If an official setting ever reappears and you want to write for it then you would need these sort of elements pre-defined.
