The Point Defense System of at least Escort sized space craft (I personally set this to anything above 5k metric tons, btw) can fire at each and every threat, including enemy fighter craft and even gunboats within Point Blank Range (page 114).
Says to treat the PDS as ultra-compact lasers.
At ISC (and Imperial) Tech Level that makes them Mk5 laser cannons.

The PDS has no HUD, thus may not benefit from Predict software.
The PDS has no gunner, so no skill bonus either.

What is the OB of the PDS against other space craft ?

If I were to guess, and it would be a guess then it would be a 0 OB attack.

I believe that is correct, but you could certainly give it a predict if that seems low to you.

Well, yes, it would be very low indeed.
At +5OB (from the Mk.) versus the DBs shown on the Imperial fighter craft you would not have any effect.

To be allowed to use Predict you need HUD... how would you go about purchasing HUD for the PDS ? A single purchase ? based on the number of attacks ?

I think it would be based on the # of attacks * the mod for a PDS.
