[Privateers] Androids and Professions
« on: October 27, 2013, 01:23:42 AM »
This isn't spelled out in the book: If an android PC uses one of the pregenerated templates in the Robotics Manual, and picks a profession that has prime stats which are not 90+ for that template, do those stats increase to 90?

For example, an espionage/infiltration android has 50 for Strength and Agility, the prime stats for a Soldier. Would this droid gain 90s in these stats for taking the Soldier profession?

No, because the stats are bought with points/cash.  Your GM may wish to require prof stats are bought to 90 minimum, or just let it slide.  I would demand the stat be purchased to 90 or higher.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die.

Once I allowed a player to just treat their android as if it were a character.

Stats and abilities were then purchased using DPs.  Skills should be learned for certain abilities as necessary.  I.E. - A partially detachable hand that folds back and reveals a mini-grappling gun.
