Title: Product 4 Released!
Post by: Defendi on October 11, 2007, 08:44:17 PM
They said it couldn?t be done.  In the middle, we thought we wondered ourselves.  Still, seven months later, and the product is a reality.  One monster book with versions for four different games.  We must have been crazy.

The Echoes of Heaven Bestiary has now released.  Included within is the adventure The Tainted Tears, episode 4 in The Moving Shadow campaign.  For more information, see www.finalredoubt.com/store or go to http://www.rpgnow.com/index.php?cPath=1762.

Thanks again for making Final Redoubt Press such a successful company.

I was thrilled to see that the Bestiary has been released and bought mine(The HARP version) right away! I am always only too happy to pay a small price for more monsters for use in HARP. I really don't know why ICE doesn't release some kind of additional monsters PDF to capitolize on GMs like me who don't have the time to sit around and create more monsters! lol

What I really like about the EoH Bestiary is the high level monsters presented within. This is a huge help for those campaigns in which players get attached to their characters and want to keep playing them up to very high levels, or for extremely epic adventures! I think its a great product for EoH or for any GM looking to expand their current monster arsenal!  :)

The rpgNOW website seems to be having trouble. I clicked the links that were sent, they came up with a price of about $1.25 per. But when the email bill was sent to me, it listed each version seperately for $8.99 apiece. So instead of a $12.95 bill (added Guild Adventurer #2) it came to $43.96.

Edit: As I said, the pricing came up fine until I submitted the order. When I got the download screen links, it listed 5 downloads available for each of the products. I don't get it.

Edit2: Just received the bill, and the order was billed correctly.

That last is how it's supposed to show up.  I've been posting on my Dev Journal about it, but I wouldn't stress.  The first person they checked out had been charged the right amount.  Evidently, it looks like a bug on the receipt.  Since that's all I see, I panicked when they sales started coming up with the wrong prices.

Don't take my word for it, though.  If you can check the account online do that, and submit a ticket to their customer service as well, so they can watch it and make sure.  I sent an e-mail out to people, but you are probably one of the no-replies.

Anyway, I don't know if this is related, but their site stopped mailing out for a while last night and then this started happening.  Your download links probably show a typo in the title that I corrected before going live as well.  I think they had a major bump last night and things haven't recovered.

As I said, report it to make sure, but so far it seems like bad reciepts, not a bad charge.

We just hit $1 on RPGNow, BTW.  That's on the top 100 list, not the front page, but I think the front page takes some time to update.  Thanks to everyone and hopefully no one has been charged extra.

I made the purchase about 4 PM CST, so there it is. It won't stop me from getting your product, but if I get charged that amount I hope you get it and not rpgNOW. :)

Given the troubles they've had I'm tempted to just order it from your website and keep it simple. In this case, I aslo want the GA2 so I went there. They had trouble with the GA2 orders as well, not sure if it was the same problem.

Last I saw that e-mail was still in the ethers, trying to connect to you, so you might recieve it before I get to my home system (I work the weekend and can only do a little bit of stuff on the work computer during breaks and the like.)  Why don't you send me a reminder to robert (at) robertjdefend.com so that I can resend to you.  It might be tomorrow evening, but I'll try to get to a system tonight.

Yeah, I just received a lot of the mails from the last days. Yours wasn't among them but I'll  just wait for a bit longer and see what happens.

Go ahead and send me that reminder.  I think I can do it at my game tonight (assuming they have wireless there).

I just recived a reply back from rpgnow.com and the reciete said XX.XX but I was charged the right price. So the error was only in the printing of the reciete.

BTW, great for tax purposes, now if I only could think of a way to write off gamming stuff.

EDIT

So I get back from a long weekend vacation and am excited to see the mailing went out.  But now rpgnow is down. :cry1: :cry1: :cry1:

Will try later.

12:30 CST - Up and running.  However I still have trouble with the Paypal interface.  There is a note to say you need to hit the 'return to site button to process order' however it appears on two different screens along with a 'pay now' and 'proceed' button.  DON'T HIT THE PROCEED BUTTON!!!  It will take you to a PayPal ad or the PayPal home page.  If you go back to the previous page, the link to OneBookshelf is no longer valid so your order will show up in processing.

Also, at some point my shipping address got switched to the federated states of micronesia.  I may not be a good typer but that is one heckuva typo from 'Iowa'.

MB,
My address also got switched from a prevous one I had. I think thier may have been some minor glitches during the merge.

Just to let you know that on page 69 of the Bestiary the title for the Giant of Understanding is wrong.

Thanks, I'll put that in the short list of immediate fixes along with the fact I demoted Josh in half the products.  :)

I'm sorry, I don't understand the question.  Could you rephrase?

Observations on the maps - In the pdf the Demon Grove map looks kind of funky.  On the CC3 map it looks fine on the screen but on the preview and printout there is a big black box over it.  It there a CC3 setting I am missing?  Wouldn't be the first time.

Haven't had time to do much reading as of yet.

The pdf versions of the maps have been photoshopped to make them look more surreal.  Not sure about the big black box.  Do you have everything printing as black?  Its a printer setting that's easy to miss.

Thought so on the pdf version but I am going to save ink on my color printer.

It is just over the bottom 2/3 of the screen.  The scale however is visible.  I checked layers and there is only one.  I have looked at it in CC3 and there is only one layer.  Looked at the file in the CC2 viewer on another printer and got the same thing.

Ah, never mind.  There is a default setting at the bottom of the print menu 'print white as black' that unclicked looks much better.
