Title: Mysterious Equipment // weird stuff
Post by: lorenen on May 18, 2007, 05:07:23 PM: i was reading my harp book when i finally arrived to the only part i didn't read often.. EQUIPMENT ::)

with all my dictionaries, online translator and a lot of fantasy i still have to understand what are these 2 items:

CALTROPS

PITONS

the only thing i know its that are made of iron ;D

can someone please enlight me?

Post by: GoblynByte on May 18, 2007, 05:41:15 PM: Caltrops are little multipronged thingies, like jacks (jax?), that when scattered on the ground make it difficult to walk without impaling your feet.

Pitons are spikes, nailed into hard surfaces, to provide hand-holds and rope ties when climing.

At least that's the way I understood them. :D

btwm are those 3 / 4 point nails used in action movies to block cars destroying tires? ;D
