I would make the damage permanent, only healable by magic or a great healer. The shield arm, in my opinion, is actually dead, dangling around, useless. I would apply -50 to all maneuvers that would use both arms (riding, swimming, climbing, etc.) No maneuver using exclusively the shield arm would be allowed, like using a shield.

Updated link. This now links to a directory, where the most updated version of the character sheet and calculator is kept:

Bob's Character Sheet and GM Calculator

Much more advanced now. Should be run with Chrome for the scripts to run faster/better.

Feel free to drop me a line if anyone wants help getting it working. It's proven it's worth 100-fold in my current campaign.

If u have a pdf of core law, you can split the pages to print with a free program like love pdf

Quote from: Frabby on March 16, 2025, 01:23:33 AMFor lack of other information I would interpret this as nerve damage. "Useless" translates as -100 to actions using the limb.
So not technically permanent, but will require a competent healer and/or a very long time to heal.

My take on it anyways.

Yeah, that's always how I interpreted it, it was a 76-80 roll so it was pretty high.

Maybe also look at where it appears on the table. If it's a high roll, it should be more severe; if it's a low row, less so. That might give you some guidance on just how bad it is supposed to be.

B electricity

Strike to foe's shield arm. If shield, he is stunned for 4 rnds. If not, foe's arm is useless and foe is stunned and unable to parry for 2 rnds.

Does that mean they arm is permanently useless? Or just for 2 rounds? What kind of injury is it? Thanks.

And along the way, take a moment to pause, breathe deeply, and immerse yourself in a glimpse of Haalkitaine through a short animation (if the  quality looks cluttered, download it- its much better then)

And what better way to begin than with a tale steeped in legend? A story, believed to be from Terry himself, once tucked away in an addendum to Stormriders, follows Kalen on his relentless quest for knowledge of the fabled Soulstone.

Join us as we unveil these rediscovered pieces, one by one, and celebrate the world that has enthralled us for decades. Shadow World lives on!
