GrumpyOldFart:
Feetchers

The smallest relative of dragons, feetchers are tiny sextopods averaging an inch long. Unlike most sextopods, they have no wings, evolution apparently having altered them into a third pair of legs, and also unlike most sextopods they are tailless. Like most sextopods, they are heavily armored, giving them the appearance of large beetles of some sort.

Its bite is "poisonous". The reason that word is in quotation marks is that the venom is not physically damaging, merely powerfully psychoactive. Symptoms of a feetcher bite involve feelings of bewilderment and frustration, in extreme cases resulting in the victim becoming violent towards whoever or whatever he/she was dealing with when the onset of symptoms occurred.

This has resulted in them being given the common nicknames of "miner's bug" and "berserker bug". A miner makes his living pounding rocks until their structural integrity fails, so a miner bitten by a feetcher just gets better at his job (although you don't want to share a tunnel with him). However a feetcher bite is a major problem for any kind of craftsman, and a hazard to the entire community if, for example, the local blacksmith gets bitten. Forges are not supposed to be turned into scattered bits, especially while they're burning.

Common nicknames aside, it's a sextopod, not an insect. It's not a bug, it's a feetcher.

There, I've documented it.   ::)
