Disease spells cure

RMC Spell law states that disease spells can only be dispelled by undisease spell, but some diseases can be cured by healing spells.
One of my players is affected by Tongue rot spell, tongue rots in one week.
Question: can it be cured by healing spells or only by undisease spell?

I would argue that the rule states that the player can cure the symptoms, restoring his tongue, but it will rot again until an undisease spell is cast.
