I do not but as a RMSS user I have monks in both Ess and Ment (rules in the MAC) and have Bards as Ess and Ment as well. In fact I let Rangers be any realm of magic but those are the only professions that I let slide around in my game work.

I'm scared to even dip my toe in the (apparently) interesting RMU discussion, partly because I feel like the new blood should have their say without the cranky old guy from the early days of RM sticking his nose in things. Because if I got in there, I would have opinions. We had arguments for days about the old system.

But I am wondering how the old Monks vs Bards thing is playing out. I always said that Monks should be Mentalists and Bards Essence (as noted in the infamous 'Amthorian view' in early RM2 editions. Anyone know what's happening there?

The rules as they stand at this moment have Monks as Mentalism and Bards as Essence. I don't think it has been a top issue of debate. Personally I can see it going either way, but I liked how the Martial Arts Companion for RMSS offered distinctly different mentalism and essence based monks, with different spell lists.

As Gryphonburgh awaits art, I really want to push to complete the Eidolon revision by the end of the year, but adventures are so hard for me to write. I have several scenario ideas, but they are not fleshed out. The rest of the book is pretty much done, with lots of new material and details about Sel-kai and the residents.

Has anyone not gotten the fabulous Shadow World Player Guide? It has gotten rave reviews and is full of gorgeous new useful graphics and artwork. I recommend the premium print version, because the paper is heavier and more opaque.

I got 5 of them, but have only 4 now that a former player has decided not to return the one I loaned him. They are very pretty, and work as an excellent Shadow World Primer.

I'll be sure to pick one up; I'm curious to see if the PoD books are as good as the larger ones. Are you likely to be picking up an ISBN for the book?

This is my first PoD order - I've been ordering electronic versions for a while....Where is this PoD printer? I wonder if I get my books before Christmas. If printer is in USA there is risk that I'll have to collect my books from customs (100€ limit for customs free books including shipping...). Did order Loremaster legacy, Emer III, premium SW players Guide and some others too.

As far as I know (unless they've added more), there are currently two printers, one in the US and one in the UK.

That sounds great - faster shipping and inside EU no customs!

I think it looks pretty nice; seems to be the same process as with a large size softcover book with B&W interior. I wasn't planning on bothering with an ISBN.

I'm in the UK and I normally get mine in just a few days. It probably won't be much longer for other EU countries.

My book cataloguing software (yes, I catalogue my books) is easier to use with ISBNs. It's more manual without. So it's really to save me a couple of minutes :)

Back to NE Jaiman. We have someone doing a NEW map of the region and I am very excited about it. His maps are more of the stylized kind, like Pete Fenlon used to do. Much more detail, showing forests, smaller rivers, etc.

Here is a sample of his work... the NE Jaiman one will be in color. Meanwhile, I am back to writing, and wrestling with the Eidolon Adventures (otherwise it is actually done, including the layout, the additional new interior art, and even the cover. If I just had about 8 cups of coffee and maybe some adderall...), and editing the Lethys module.

I know! I feel so lucky having actually run in Pete's campaigns, not only with his crazy imagination, but using his gorgeous maps.

I am looking forward to working with this guy.

I still draw almost all of my maps by hand, some on 17" by 22" paper and I try and do as well as he does but I am not a pro artist by any means. Even then some people like what I have done, even some non-players who say what is that?

Was just chatting with Olivia Johnston (wife of Pete; I introduced them) about our early car trips between Charlottesville and our shared hometown area of Pittsburgh PA. So many bizarre memories of us all gathering together in random ways. I could write a book about how ICE came together. The PhD Computer guy, the Anthropologist, the Architect, the liberal arts/bar manager, the accountant ("A movie star, the professor and..." well, not quite).
