RMU - Piecemeal armor and penalties
« on: December 06, 2022, 06:24:47 AM »
There do not seem to be official rules for the penalties from armor that piecemeal armor would produce. Sure, one can roughly extrapolate, but how does this play out. For example, say I wear a plate torso, rigid leather leggings, soft leader arms and a scale hood, what are my encumbrance and maneuver penalties?

According to table 6.4 on page 140, full plate suit is -100. A full plate torso with no other armor is -55. The difference between a full suit rigid leather and Rigid Leather torso is -25, roughly 4/7th of which (so about -14) would be for the legs (assuming leg armor is twice as much encumbering as arm armor, and arm and head armor are roughly equivalent). With soft leather arms, the result of a similar computation would be roughly -2, and the scale hood would bring in about -7, for a total maneuver penalty of that piecemeal armor  of -79.

Am I doing this right? Is there a quicker way?

(Okay, simply use the values given further down in the table, sure, and then add them up.  Never mind.)
