Any idea what is most likely (currently; I know that can change if inspiration strikes in a different direction) to be the next supplement available after Eidolon?

I would say from me, Wuliris, NE jaiman, a region module with a lot of Taranian and Zor info. But we also have two outside modules (one is Lethys) I am editing... but they do need some work

I am not sure what you mean, but tomorrow I am driving 110 miles each way to beautiful Charlottesville Virginia to look at homes. What are you doing?

A Facebook friend just suggested that Andraax was something like the Dr in "Waters of Mars" where he just went kind of crazy and tried to change things. I was like, wow, yes... Andraax is kind of like the Dr.

I was implying you could surely write and edit four books in an afternoon and then get on with something else the following day but if you are driving then it wouldn't be safe to drive and type at the same time.

Bwahaha you give me far too much credit. Sure back in the 90's I was Brooke Lindsay the Spacemaster author and Preston Eisenhower the IQ editor, while also writing/editing Shadow World and being the production manager of ICE, but I drink less coffee and coke now and am a bit slower. (how in the heck did I do all that?)  :o ???

BTW,
One way to get around the typing if you have a long commute.

There are some authors that write by speaking into recorders in there care and having their assistants typing up there notes for later editing.

How the heck did you do all that?  It's a secret lore known as Youth Essence. Even the Loremasters have yet to prevent the loss of the ability to channel it beyond a certain age.  ( ;

What does editing RPG books involve anyway? I've only read one explanation, from Matthew Sprange.

IMHO, it should be the same as editing any book but with the added problems that made up words wreck havoc with spell checkers. So you check for clarity, content and organization could include things such as art placement, font style, indexing, etc.
So in basic all the things your English or Language teacher had to do in grade school.

Somewhat off-topic, but a bit of ICE/Rolemaster ancient history. Long ago, in the late 70's, there was a place on the grounds (campus)at UVa called Pavillion XI (It was basically a bar and a bit of an in-joke, because Jefferson designed his Academical Village with Ten Pavillions). Olivia had recently graduated and was the manager, and I was a student, and because we both lived in Pittsburgh suburbs, we became ride-along to home visits friends. Olivia was fascinated with Pete's middle earth game, and in fact I introduced them (and they have been happily married for many years now).

ANYWAY, Olivia and I shared a fascination with the ending of LotR where Elrond, Gandalf and Galadriel shared some kind of mental communication, that had really not been talked about before. And that was the origin of Rolemaster Mentalism, as something separate from magical power, something that the powerful Elves had.

It only just occurred to me how much the movies used this (from our games? Who knows) How Galadriel could look into the minds of the fellowship, and later, how she called out to Elrond to aid men as he stood looking out the window.

"Will you let them stand alone?"

And of course in the first Hobbit movie, where Galadriel and Gandalf have a private mental conversation while Saruman prattles on.

Thoughts?

Well, I always thought that MERP dropped the wrong realm. Denethor also pretty clearly has abilities that fit into Mentalism and even Aragorn's Ranger abilities are better modeled as Mentalism both in how they manifest (with concentration, but no finger wiggling and chants) and in theme. It's something of a toss-up whether the evil sorcery that can be done by tapping into Morgoth's diffused power should be considered Evil Channeling or Evil Essence, but I would tend to go with Essence, given that there's reverence, but little religion, to be seen on the side of good. Worship in exchange for power would not go over well with the Lords of the West at all. So, I'd have dropped Channeling, but Mentalism was always the realm that best matched the majority of the magic we see in the Third Age of Middle-Earth.

Emer III

That, I think, makes it the third best seller for GCP - on RPGNow at least - after HARP Fantasy and Shadow World Players Guide.

Yes I think so. I am a little surprised, as it is a massive book, kind of pricey. But it got good reviews. I was assuming if anything, Gryphon would go Electrum first. But exciting nonetheless. Still lots of SW fans out there!

I had been checking it regularly, and I, too, expected Green Gryphon to achieve it first.

Great minds think alike. But I imagine Gryphon will soon join it. Exciting that newer SW books are selling well!
