It's simple, really. My cousin and his gaming group asked me to be Game Master/Dungeon Master for them for D&D 3.x. I started the game in Eberron since that is the game with the most fun.
The party is composed of a ranger, a druid everyone calls Wolfy Boy; a halfling wizard, a bard, a halfling rogue, and a swashbuckling fighter with a mean streak. Oh, and a barbarian. They are apparently from the "other" Adventuring area since they do bad things.
So, we have a rough and tumble party of adventurers that hate flamists. Which are religious fanatics. So, as they visited the wizards' fair and took part in the local cuisine (crawler tenticles, yuck!) I placed a dead body in the fair.
I wanted to try something new, so I encouraged them to describe the dead body. A little thing from Houses of the Blooded. Well, they managed to outwit an investigator by showering him with a sulphrous smelling liquid (I described that smelled like rotten eggs).
Finally a female personality warforged attacked. Somehow, in the tussle, our ranger wrestled with her. In a vain attempt to kick her off, the Warforged and the ranger bounced together. My Faux Pas was describing the scene as something obscene. The ranger threatened to kill me and the whole group, including the ranger, broke out laughing until their sides ached.
The group decided to keep me on as DM.
