Golden Slumbers

We are not sure how best to play this spell.   8th level on cleric base list.  Says sleep for 1 round per 10% failure but spell description says first minute is magical and cannot wake up with out magical means.   We play that a round is 10 secs so 1 minute means 6 rounds.   So if you fail by only 10% do you still stay asleep for the entire minute?

We play that up to the first minute is magical so it could be 1 round it could be 6 but more than 6 means that only the first six are magical.

Closed Essence, Spirit Mastery has no duration based RR but is “natural” sleep vs “deep” sleep for your spell referenced.

It allows one to be woken up after two rounds of magical unwakeable slumber. 

RM2 had no tag of any unwakeableness but did differentiate the deep vs natural states for the same spells.

So, while an unlucky result might mean less than 6 rounds of sleep with GS, the magically unwakeable kind is longer if you can overwhelm the foes resistances with a high B.A.R.

For comparison, the current RMU draft says:
8. Golden Slumbers – As Stunning, except target falls into a deep sleep. The spell duration of this sleep is magical (and the target cannot be awakened in any normal fashion). After this magical sleep, the target may be awakened normally, but if undisturbed, the target will sleep for a normal length sleep period (eight hours for humans).

Increase spell duration to one minute per 5pts rr failure. The Cleric can capture opponents non lethally...that's great.
