Title: Maps of SW
Post by: Malim on March 04, 2017, 08:09:05 AM
Why isnt there a map like this http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/forgottenrealms/images/a/a0/Faerun_map.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20080923050218
For jaiman or other main story line continents?
Im a sucker for detailed maps with towns and places!

I totally agree to the lack of detailed maps. This is something i've been working on the last three weeks. Its not in a finished state but I like the scope of it. Its a very large file, but i've reduced the details to make it more easy to open. It of the northern part of Emer and sadly many of the names are in swedish.

Nice map! What did you use to make the terrain?

Imagine if we could get the guy who did the maps from the Middle Earth modules to do one for Kulthea? I know it is not possible though.

The Master Atlases though did have some general maps of Emer and Jaiman, and I have some with political boundaries as well. Not sure where I got them from though?

I would love to see Anna Meyer do some maps for Shadow World. Check out what she has done for the World of Greyhawk: http://ghmaps.net/greyhawk-maps/online-map/

That was Pete Fenlon, President of ICE. His maps were gorgeous. He also slaved over them, spending huge amounts of time on them.

I seriously love maps for roleplaying!
I like to make smaller maps of areas of Jaiman local maps, district maps, shire maps etc!

And respect to Pete, that was some detailed maps he made, and i really miss that for whole of Jaiman!

He did an awesome job; I think that is one of the reason the MERP maps are still so beloved today.

If you mean the Anna Meyer ones, I agree. I would love to see all of Kulthea done by her. She does do them on commission...I almost got her to do one for an AD&D campaign I was running dealing with the southern Yatil Mountains where the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth and the Hidden Temple of Tharizdun are located, complete with all the trails and the various set encounter locations in both of those modules. Unfortunately, that group fell apart before we got anywhere close to that part of the campaign.

Crowd fund her to do jaiman!

This is the man.

Robert Altbauer did the Agyra maps for "Priest-King". reasonable fees, excellent turn-around and great quality.

And Matt (Vroomfogle) did a great detailed map of Jaiman using Campaign Cartographer. Not sure a link to that....Matt?

Why couldn't Pete do Jaiman?

You could always ask him, but as the CEO of the company that published Settlers of Catan, he's probably got other stuff to do.

Yes, there is a map of Kaitaine (as well as Artha and Kaitaine); I believe it is in the Emer book, but would need to check to make sure.

I have a PDF showing maps of Artha, Kaitaine and Kenezan. I have no idea what supplement the original came in; I think the PDF may have been from Terry's old site. The Kaitaine map does lack the rather large hole made in the city by a meteorite.

EDIT: Okay, the map is in the old Emer boxed set and the original has a map of Eidolon on it as well. Mine just didn't happen to be in the box but the box itself said that the maps were in it.

Right, Kenezan; I counted Kaitaine twice.

I can upload it and see if it's approved. It may or may not be.

I think that would be violating the copyright; not sure though.
