Shadow World / Re: Misc SW material

I didn't use either of those, and don't own them. However, we used part of Matt's combat styles over the last decade and I believe he used Combat Companion. That file is from 2006 or might be older.

Matt's file is here (in this thread) and may be more useful if you are looking for something based on those companions

Thank you.  I suspected it might be something like that.  Unfortunate, since I worry that CLII priority might get lost in the shuffle and I will need to create additional monsters for my campaign, but resource balancing is a fact of business.  Thank you for the quick response.  I appreciate this community a lot.

A nice piece of work for RMU. Regarding the combat Styles: Do you used the Martial Arts Compendium or Combat companion rules to create them? Would be nice to know.
Thanks

Shadow World / SW Combat Companion

A collection of various rules posted up "here and there" I needed to put together for my group and thought I would add it here.

New material on some unique Shadow World combat systems.

It's really just a question of who is working on what and what rates things get completed. If CrL II was ready for layout, it would get priority for layout, but there's still some work to do first.

I wrote Character Companion before CrL I was finished. So, it's ready. CrL II is being worked on by the same people as CrL I, so they couldn't get ahead the same way. Arcane Companion was written by Nash, whose other focus has been our Roll20 implementation.

Originally Creature Law was just going to be one book, but the draft version was over 1,000 pages. So, it was decided to break it into two, with all the basic creatures -- just the stuff you needed to be able to play -- in CrL I. Creature Law II was going to be less necessary as it will have the more exotic creatures as well as the rules for building/levelling creatures. By the time that decision was made and CrL I was out, other books were in a more advanced state of publication.

At least, that's what I understand, looking in from the outside.

Thanks, @colin-ice ...

Yes, anything we could do to help filter out the spam user account Registrations. I just banned 7 or 8 more and deleted corresponding single spam messages, one actually in English even.

I will say, I administer larger forum as well, not just moderate, and the questions are solved by genAI at this point. I'm assuming it is still paying the bills though simple ones like math questions might keep any spammers in low margin from being able to automatically register and post spam in th default forum number.

Best to just put New Users in a moderation queue for their first post and only allow them one post until it is reviewed and they are approved to post.

Can't believe this forum software doesn't have that buried in a setting somewhere. If I had admin access I would see what I could find.

Rolemaster / Creature Law II Release
Last post by TigerShaman - April 12, 2026, 01:25:18 AM
Perhaps I missed it, but could someone explain why Creature Law II got pushed behind other books?  Originally (and still on the webpage), it says there will be five Vanguard (Vanguard meaning first in) books including Core Law, Spell Law, Treasure Law, and Creature Law in two volumes.  These will be followed by other books including Character Companion.

It now seems that at least Character Companion and Arcane Companion have been moved in front of Creature Law II.  This doesn't seem to make a lot of sense since Creature Law II is a core book and Creature Law I refers to Creature Law II in multiple locations and is really an incomplete book without the second.

Thanks for any information you can provide on this.

Are there any interview questions that are asked when new members register? I've found that can do wonders for filtering out spam accounts, as long as they're actual I.C.E.-relevant questions that can be answered by a thinking person and not just gimmes like "what's twelve minus five?"

I'd be happy to come up with a list if there isn't one already.
