Topic: Diminishing Returns Spells and Items?

 I was just wondering with the Armor Stacking thread and the General Item Magic Bonus thread is people provide diminishing returns or the greater of the two bonuses for a spell and an enchanted item together?
 Example: I have a +5 magic Long sword and have a spell cat on me granting a bonus of +10 OB, what is my OB? +10 or +12.5 or +15? Or something else?

For us these bonuses stack, so it's +15.

Is there an official ruling on stacking of the armor/DB items themselves or is it just GM Option/Opinion/Run-time-decision?

 I do not think there is an official rule but I believe most people add the bonuses.

There are a series of little official rules, like those notes at the bottom of some spell lists, but no global rule.

  I was thinking that the spell and item overlap would work the same as item item overlap. But maybe that is just reading too much into it.

BTW; I do additive +15 above and do not allow multiple spells to stack.
