Adolescent Skill Ranks

Quick question: do adolescent kill ranks count towards the total ranks limit at first level?

Yes, they do.   So do the 20 Professional skill ranks you get for your first level.

They may be "free", but they're still skill ranks and  3 + 3 per level is the limit.

Yes. The skill cap is still the skill cap, and you are still limited to a rank of 6 at 1st level (3 + (3 * level)). Unless you have a talent, that I can't recall the name of right now, that increases the skill cap on either a single skill or a group of skills by 3 (and I can't remember which right now either).
