Multiple Attacks vs higher level spell casters

IYO, is the multiple attack option a good offset to higher level spell casters? Or is more needed?

Multiple attacks tend to become a bit of a mess. . . .almost every mechanism in which the system attempts to use them as is, is broken.

I don't believe this is a system that needs balancing.

Fighters shouldn't try to compare themselves with mages. :)

Is that just duct taping the pipes so as not to notice the leak?

Do you recall the high stat abilities in Rolemaster Companion III?  A simular system could be divised based on "High levels in Profession".

As an eample, each profession would have three types of icks, A, B and C.  At assigned levels (say, every five) they get to purchase a pick from the list of abilities.  Multiple Atack could be one of them.

IF multiple attack were added as a fighter ability, I recommend the rule being something like for this: as a 100% action the fighter may attack two targets that are within 10' of each other.  Each attack suffers a -40 OB mod.  OB deduction for parry is subtracted from BOTH attacks.

At higher picks, the penalty can be decreased.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die.

We use the multiple attacks from CC only we also allow additional attacks to be bought for directed styles, as it is a universal element. I know it is stipulated in the text for the element that it is meant for melee only but it works well for us. These last few campaigns the fighters have been by far the most powerfull. They ended around level 15
