Regarding the eastern hemisphere, there is a basic map at my site you can download.

Excellent! :)

Is it ever described in a module (or is it planned in the future)?

There's a brief description of the East in (I believe) the 3rd edition atlas. I'm not sure if it is in the 4th edition. (Anyone, feel free to correct me).

There are references to the Eastern Hemisphere in the following places:

SWMA1: World Guide, p12
Haalkitaine,   p81
SWMA3, p125
SWMA4, p108

Turns out I did have a PDF of the 3rd edition Atlas here at work. There's about a 1-page description of the lands of the East and the Essænce Lords who rule most of it on pp 19-20.

I have that one - I was curious as to whether there's more than just a paragraph besides a cryptic reference.

I wonder if any 'new' campaign world in the future could end up being the eastern portion of the Shadow World ...and sneakily reveal it several modules down the road.  ::)

But for me, there's still plenty of western Shadow World to still explore! :)

That'll be added to my ebay list! My next physical items from ICE is going to be the SWMA4 and the Powers book too. Emer3 if it's available by the time I make the order (and I'll need to make it worth it as the postal rates over to the UK are incredibly high!).

PS. Terry - did you get my cheeky email? ;D

I think Emer III will only be available as a pdf, at least initially. It may be a while before any hardcopy is available.

I'd located a copy of this and bought it (just awaiting delivery) before I realised it was also a 'free download' from Terry's site.  :'(

Still, it saves me printing it.  ;D

It's also a free download from my site as well (has been since I turned it into a PDF for Terry a long long time ago)  ;D

Plus it is also available here on ICE's site as well. In both English and Spanish --> http://www.ironcrown.com/ICEforums/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=cat21

Hi Guys

I've been trying to find printed versions of the Emer books 1 and 2 (I already have the original Emer boxset) and the Haalkitaine book but then it occurred to me (my brain has a hard time keeping up with reality sometimes) - do the new Jaiman Player's handbook that Vroomfogle is working on and Emer 3 that Terry's working on replace the above (as the Master Atlas' 4 does to the previous versions) or are they in addition to the above supplements?

Emer III doesn't replace Emer I & II, it just will cover a different region, as will Emer IV. When all four Emer books are finished, plus Artifacts and Lost Tech, they will combined replace the Emer boxed set.

I don't think the Jaiman Player's Handbook will replace Jaiman, as the existing supplement has GM stuff in it.

Emer 1 and Emer 2 did exist in printed form when Terry was publishing Shadow World by himself as Eidolon Studios during the last days of Old ICE. As far as I am aware they are only available as pdfs since Mjolnir/ICE has been in operation.

Emer III will be a wholly new book. As will be Emer IV in due course and it will complete the quartet of Emer books from Terry (each details a different quadrant of the continent). Both will be published through Guild Companion Publications. Both will be statted for RM2/Classic and RMSS/FRP, of course

Beyond Emer III and Emer IV, Terry has plans for future sourcebooks, again these will be wholly new. I cannot reveal what these will be in or the order in which they will be written and published. Terry makes those decisions and it will depend on what he feels like at the time.

The Player's Guide series is slated to currently have a World Player Guide, followed by a Guide to the Continent of Jaiman, and a continental guide to Emer. These are new products aimed at Shadow World players - a GM can point new players at the right guide and say read that instead of having to pick their way through the Master Atlas and regional sourcebooks. Beyond that there are further possibilities.

We have further plans for additional products and there will be more Shadow World adventures in Guild Adventurer issues.

Best wishes,
Nicholas

Thanks guys - it looks like there's plenty of screen reading to do in that case. :)

We also intend to get the new sourcebooks including Xa-ar into printed form but that depends on other companies, so we cannot say when that will happen.

Ebook readers are becoming a lot cheaper these days.

Alternatively, if you have a Nintendo DS, you could get an R4 chip, homebrew pdf reader software for it, and load pdfs onto it. (not tried this, so don't know how easy to read they will be)

I like how handy PDFs are and you can keep them on a flash drive and take them wherever you go far easier than lugging a trolly around with your books. I also like being able to search in a PDF so they make referencing quick and easy.

What I don't like is actually reading a PDF on the screen in the first place. I am happy to reference them on screen at a later date though. Perhaps it has something to do with my job being in front of a computer or that migraines are far too frequent but I just find reading on screen to not be a pleasant experience.  :-\

I'm VERY interested in that Nicholas!!!
(I've even been looking around to see what the buzz of Print on Demand is all about - yes, I am THAT adverse to reading them on screen)! In the old days, there's normally a laser printer in the corner of the office just waiting for a late night impromptu printing sesh but alas, I don't have need of one myself to warrant the purchase price so I'm toying with the idea of popping into a local (sort of 'local' in my neck of the woods) print shop.

Does the print line-up include the Guild Adventurer too?  :)

...Could the Emer books 1 & 2 and Haalkitaine ever be included in the printed line-up or are they partly owned by ICE?

...please?  ;D

I hate reading pdfs on a computer. The screen just doesn't tend to be positioned well for easy reading. Any I actually want to read properly I've printed out myself and taken to Staples to get bound (I really want an ebook reader)

Craggles;
You may want to check into a CRT monitor with very high refresh rate that makes things easy on your eyes. But that can be a little $$$.
I do not think todays standard LCD's are excellent for reading. They are good but they can ware you down after a while. I have a fairly large monitor and read double pages of text but it still makes my eyes tired do to the 60 Hz refresh rate. Which is standard for most LCD's a few years ago. I would like to hook up one of these new 240 Hz Large TV LCD's and see how it would be for reading. But that would mean I would have to have one in the first place.
