Title: What's In Progress?
Post by: egdcltd on March 27, 2015, 12:10:21 PM
I was wondering if we could have a complete list of every currently in-progress product, for every system, and at any stage (even if the stage isn't stated), whether it's only just started, like the Norek overhaul, or almost complete, like Green Gryphon.

That is a very long list. I think it currently sits at 34 projects, but I might have miscounted.

Best wishes,
Nicholas

Yes, I was listing the ones I could think of, and it was pretty substantial. Just thought it would be interesting to see a list of everything being worked on.

Nicholas, it may be a very long list but egdcltd actually asked for a list, not for an estimation of the number of things on that list! ;)  Personally, I'm in support of getting some more transparency of the delivery pipeline.

Whilst I've got a collection of RM2 and HARP 1ed, I'm only interested in RMU at the moment (well, and perhaps SMU (in the future) for some space odyssey action!) but I'm sure other gamers are interested in other products.  Having to piece together disparate bits of information from across posts to this board or from monthly updates is a chore when it could all be presented in more comprehensive and accessible format.

This post is not intended as criticism, just an observation from a future potential customer who has to budget their finances and would appreciate a better indication of what's going on. :)

When everything is written by freelancers or by "staff" like me who also have day jobs, I don't have transparency of the product pipeline. I will consider what is sensible to disclose in an aggregate list.

Best wishes,
Nicholas

Nicholas,

Would it be a stretch to say that, over the course of all the variations of ICE, that more projects (in all their specific attempts) have NOT finished than have?

Possibly. I generally expect that 50%+ of first time freelance writers will have to bail on their project for whatever reason at some point and so not deliver.

Only a minority of our current projects are actually being written by first-timers and most of them have delivered a first draft, which usually gets them over the worst hurdle.

Best wishes,
Nicholas

I realise that some projects won't really be suitable for disclosure (I thought I'd written that; looks like it didn't make it out of my head), but there are a lot that have been disclosed in various places, and it would be nice to see a combined list.
