Eidolon Font
« on: February 17, 2011, 04:37:06 PM »
Can anybody offer any advice on how to get the Eidolon font available as a download on Terry's SW site to work with Windows? When I unpack the .sit file it doesn't contain any recognisable font files. I have a number of IC documents I would like to provide my gaming group with, and printing them in a font that requires deciphering would add authenticity.

I can't extract anything from the file. Universal Extractor just throws an error, and nothing else I have works at all.
I made some things! Azukail Games

darksilver, I thought I had a TrueType font for that but I can't find it.   Are you on a Mac ?

No, unfortunately on a pc. If you have the mac version it might be possible to find a converter. I wonder if elder loremaster Amthor could help...  ;)

The cheapest way IMHO is to find a clip art package that has a lot of fonts and buy it. Other wise IIRC you can go to Adobe and pick it up any font you want for $.

It may also be illegal to give away some fonts and font types, IIRC.

Thank you for your comments markc, but it was specifically the Eidolon font by TKA I am seeking, in order to add that feel of authenticity to player handouts. I guess if it no longer exists I'll have to give up on the plan  :'(
Thanks anyway.

Well a work around would be to have someone on a Mac print to a PDF and send you the PDF. Or another file format that you could use but that would require you to share your work/game materials with another.

there is a free expender version that decompresses the files on this site:

http://www.stuffit.com/win-expander.html

be sure to download the 2010 version, the 2011 does not extract the files - just tested both

(i have no idea how to open font files - no idea if they are usable)

Dain: does this mean you need a Mac to use this download? Or is this a Windows version?
