Wow!
I only listened to the first part. But wow!

Now I'll finish Gene Wolfe's Citadel of the Autarch and my guitar lesson and then I'll sit down with a cup of tea and listen to all of it in all its glory!

Thank you, Raf.

That's me reading the story, yes.

It's a true story, you know.  The names have been changed to protect the munchkin.

Its an entertaining story, and I like how it plays with the concepts of roleplaying.

Very pleasant reading voice btw (still not a fanboy, just stating a fact) ;D

Do you plan to do more episodes this way or was this a teaser?

I plan on releasing one a week for the duration of the book.  Not positive how many eps that is (9 or 10).  We've recorded all of them, just haven't done post production on all of them yet.

Just out of curiosity: will you be posting some background information on the website as well?
I'm really interested in your motivations concerning this project. Why did you decide to write this kind of story, why did you publish it as a free download and so forth...
If you don't plan on doing it, I'll probably keep on nagging you until you answer my questions here in the forum ;)

Eeeek - 58MB sound file.  Will have to come up with an alternate for listenting to it at home, or suffer the two hour download as I am still on dial up.

It's a true story.  It had to be told.

As to why I'm offering it for free:  I was thinking of submitting it to publishers, but comedy is a really hard sell.  The problem is that comedy is subjective, so the book can have wide appeal, but you still need everyone in the decision process at the publisher to think it's funny, and that can be hard.

Anyway, my good friend Howard Taylor (schlockmercenary.com) was talking about it at our game one night.  He decided that I should release it via the free-content business model (basically, give it away).  He's a master of that model and feeds his wife and kids with it, so I figured I should listen to him.  Anyway, it can't help but increase the visibility of Final Redoubt Press.

So that's why it's free.
