Title: RMC to FRP
Post by: luzbel on November 28, 2021, 11:01:52 AM
After a lot of pondering, Im going to play FRP with a lot of homerules but I would like to use the classes in RMC Spell Law II and Combat Companion. No problem with spell lists but where can I find the skills cost and class category bonuses for those classes?

Easiest way would just be to use the closest equivalent; if you have Fire and Ice use elemental champion for CC for elemental warrior, similarly for ChCo semi priest for CC Champion; if you only have the basics - paladin for CC champion, magent for CC venturer, etc.
Harder way would be to use any of the conversion documents in the vault or if you can find the old Irregular Realms article from the guild companion to build equivalent versions.
One thing to remember is that RM2/RMC spell lists tend to be more powerful than RMSS.

Using the closest equivalent whenever possible is a good idea. That said, Irregular Realms should be in the Vault. You can also find it in the internet archive here: https://web.archive.org/web/20041103023102/http://www.guildcompanion.com/scrolls/1999/mar/realms.html (https://web.archive.org/web/20041103023102/http://www.guildcompanion.com/scrolls/1999/mar/realms.html)

I also cobbled together a system a long time ago, which can be found here: http://www.madreporite.com/rpg/rpg.htm (http://www.madreporite.com/rpg/rpg.htm)

Neither system is official, and the official professions were not created with any system in mind, so you'll want to carefully eyeball whatever you create to make sure it balances ok.
