I don't know if this has been asked before, and I also asked on the Discord server. Where can I find weights for doses of herbs before they're prepared for use?
-
i have never seen such figures in rpg supplements and related books.
but medical substances are usually rated in milligrams with super-heavy compounds ranging into the 2-5g (2000-5000mg).
given that the compound to dead-mass ratio in plants can range from 1/10 to 1/1000.
given all that uncertainty ... you can readiely assume that an unrefined herbal dose of medicine has a weight around 3-20 grams (1/10 to 1 oz).
if you would ask me as a GM, i would rule around 1-2 oz. for simplicity and imperialism.

My sailor is carrying 3 doses of rafa, and as rafa is a moss, I don't imagine it weighs very much.

that would be definitely in the 1/10 of an oz range.

I alwways go with at leat 1-2 oz figuring you have to prep abd store it in something so I don't go with just the weight of the herb
-
I would probably rule that the weight of the container they are being carried in will suffice for the resulting encumbrance.

Yeah, if you're carrying your herbs in a little wooden box in your backpack, the weight of the herbs will be dwarfed by the weight of the box.
