Just as a first headsup:
An initial pdf version of the playtest version of Character Law arrived overnight - a few items had gone astray - so I have sent back a correction list.
The playtest version of Spell Law has also started pdf layout - the front and back sections are done - our guru is working his way through the spell list tables from the back to the front. (It makes sense to him, I'm not going to argue!)
(For those who did not observe the HARP SF & HARP SF Xtreme uncertainty countdowns, in an uncertainty countdown I can tell you what has been done or yet to be done, but not when.)
Best wishes,
Nicholas

Even if I work here, I'm still going to woo-hoo.
WOO-HOO! ;D

Partial Success! Roll again!

Partial Success! Roll again!
Lol that was awesome
and thanks for the update I for one am looking forward to the beta :D
-
Me and my group are all kinds of excited. Hoping for the best.
-
3 tables hiding (Unusual Success for them) in the spreadsheets still to go into the Character Law pdf - everything else looking very good.
Playtest forums have been created and initial admin threads built. The visibility switch on these will probably be tripped when the first pdf goes live into Public Playtest
Director's Briefing now written and awaiting the go signal.
Essential legal copyright text and the like being prepared at Aurigas
Best wishes,
Nicholas
-
Exciting. We expect to take part in the playtest, if we like the directions you have taken with this.
Will you be offering a summary of important changes/choices made for this version - maybe in the beta forum?
-
The RMU team will be posting their collected delta lists.
And you all will be participating in the beta test. Trust me on this - it will become clear very soon.
Best wishes,
Nicholas

So...guess I'll increase yet again my number of daily checks for new activity on the site.
:working:
-
Hmm...must be some massive online tournament in the works.
I can see it now: The New Unified Rolemaster Arms Law Elimination "There-Can-Only-Be-One" Gladiatorial Tournament of Death.
I can't wait!
And you all will be participating in the beta test. Trust me on this - it will become clear very soon.
-
First ever fight to the death elimination tournament using only #2 pencils. ;)
-
@2 Pencils? Then my PC's name is Joker.
-
The reason it's mightier than the sword is because that's what you use to write down your sword bonus with.
;)

Both of my eyes have got a twitch in them.

Sounds like a bad Fairly Odd Parents Episode
-
Spell Law is now down to the inclusion of a few tables from the spreadsheets and a sanity check to see if anything escaped.
Best wishes,
Nicholas

Nearly lost a little wee with excitement over this pending release!
;)
-
I'm curious. :)
-
...and a sanity check to see if anything escaped.
No problem, all the sane people escaped, it's only us left. ;)
(Ya don't want sane people around as bystanders during a playtest, somebody could get hurt.)

Nerd 1: "I broke my leg tripping over an imaginary turtle!"
Nerd 2: "That should teach you not to be a bystander during a Rolemaster playtest!"

Well, this is making me feel like a kid again. I keep checking in, thinking "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"
-
Are we there yet? Any more news? Been awfully quiet the past few days...

Well, this is making me feel like a kid again. I keep checking in, thinking "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"
Now guess how many times I have to check in/on with writers (ahem), editors, artists, layout gurus, etc, ...
Best wishes,

Character Law and Spell Law are now ready to go. Craig is now working his way through Arms Law.
We still have some essential legalese from Aurigas to get completed. That has to be done. When you see how the playtest is going to be run, you will understand.
Best wishes,
Nicholas

You guys are killing me

You guys are killing me
But is it a RM kill, with a great crit or a D&D kill? ;D
MDC
-
Hehe.. No crit. Just slooowly nibbling at my few patience-hits... I have very low SD and will probably go insane before I ever get to read RMU
-
Much as we're eager to see RMU, we understand that it has to be right before it's released for beta - i.e. "you can't rush perfection!"
I for one would rather wait and see a superior product than get an inferior one sooner.

Right on my players bug me weekly they are all looking forward to dropping the 4E game we have going and doing a reboot using rolemaster

I'm pretty sure I'm the one dying under the pressure. Those Spell Law tables were a nightmare! :O
...and guess what Arms Law have in spades? :P
-
I am dying with impatience also ;)

So we're talking Cthulhu crit, then?

Julius II: When will you make an end?
Michelangelo: When I am finished!

+1. Haste makes waste...or some such...

Focus on something else besides RMU not being here. :) Think about how all the smart kids will see RM as cool!

Legalese now in.
Thom has two switches to flick into go mode, then I have a switch to flick regarding the Briefing. Once the three switches are flipped to go, then Character Law and Spell Law will be available for Public Playtest.
Best wishes,
Nicholas

Switches flicked for Character Law and Spell Law.
Arms Law still in layout phase.
Best wishes,
Nicholas

Any update on Arms Law release timeframe?
-
Hopefully this week. :)
Due to some issues with mobile PDF readers people have had with the Character & Spell Law, I've made sure that ALL tables are InDesign tables in the Arms Law book which has increased the time taken unfortunately. :(
...and the grey hairs. :P
-
craggles, I dub thee Lord of The Tables!
And lo, how the tables have turned.

A full layout pdf exists and is now being sanity checked to see if any tables escaped. The Subdual crit table made a bid for freedom so there's a bit more work to be done but hopefully not too much.

Any news?

Assuming no further issues arrive overnight that need fixing, I will make the Arms Law Playtest File available on Tuesday 16th.
