EOH sin definition needed, please
« on: January 04, 2007, 05:48:52 PM »
In EOH, each race has a weakness for one certain type of sin.  The sin for humanity is "wantonness".  Never having heard this word before, I went to dictionary.com and got the following answer:

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Wantonness

I was wondering, exactly which one of these 10 definitions was meant?

If it means what I think it means, the word you meant was 'licentiousness'.  Sorry, but this really is confusing me, i'm not trying to troll you.

It would be def 4.  "Wantonness" is a word the people of WotC find more appealing than "Lust" (that is, will allow to be in a book with the d20 logo).  At least that's the explanation I got.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Defendi.

4 with a little bit of five.  It includes wild celebrating of any sort.  Originally I was thinking lust, but I didn't want a core mechanic to be single-mindedly sexual.

I should probably mention Gerik is right, that was my oiriginal thinking.  Things just changed during production.

Also, Dutch, thanks for making a point about saying you weren't trolling.  It's hard to tell sometimes (not in this thread, but I appreciate the sentiment.)  :)
