ERA - Feature Request
« on: November 26, 2019, 11:58:43 AM »
Hi,

Currently the css is embedded in the html file. It would be great if this were editable as an external file which was then copied into the HTML sheet. It would require a little tweaking, but would make things much more customizable with (assuming the css generation code is minimal) very little change to the code itself.

The biggest change I can see which would need to be made is to add ids to each table. That way if I , for example, wanted to hide the recovery chart, I could simply set that chart's id's style to display property to none.

It would also allow people to tweak the layout. For instance, I'd rather be able to rearrange the various divs so the sheet ends up being much more condensed.

----

One other request, can there be a way to add the spells known to the sheet, perhaps on page 2? That's a lot less important, as I'll likely want to print the entire spell law pages out for players.

As far as I can tell, the CSS is sourced from files in the @/Server/Resources/ directory.

You should be able to modify them. I haven't played with that aspect though.

What file are you seeing them in? All I have are a bunch of images. There are no files containing "css" or "style" in my entire ERA directory.

Well, it's true there are css files in ERA/Server/Resources, it's only that they are hidden by default.

Anyway, they don't affect the printable character sheet. That is contained in the generated HTML file to make it more portable, and the list of css rules there are hardcoded into the system.

With that said, it could be changed in a future version, so that you have for instance a printableCharacterSheet.css that you can modify as you want in your installation, and then every printable sheet generated will embed that content to make it as portable as it is now, only with better customization.

It is in fact a great idea and I hope we can include it as soon as possible!
Thanks!

Thanks!

For now, since it's a block of text that doesn't really change, I could always write a script to do the find and replace if I get feisty. :)

(Very minor) bug report:

81-90 (conspiratorial background) is missing under the background options table for special status.

And a question: how do I use an NPC in a future combat after creating it based on a blank template? Example:

  • Start adventure
  • Toggle combat
  • Add NPC based on blank template
  • End combat
  • Start new combat
  • Add that same NPC to the current combat

Step #6 eludes me. I can't load from a file because the file doesn't exist. The NPC doesn't show in the creature templates. He also can't be copied since he isn't in the combat already.

Do I need to create him as a full character and load from there? What about if there are wounds or other effects that carry from combat to combat?

It's worse than that actually. The description for Conspiratorial background is included as part of Royal blood!  :o

It will be fixed in the next release. Thanks for reporting it!

A little conspiracy mixed in with the royal line seems pretty darn apropos actually.
