Hi All !

I use the option 2.2 of Spell Law: Non Random Spell Acquisition by Individual Spells.
With this options come 3 restrictions:

- Characters may only purchase up to 3 ranks per list, per level
- Spell rank cost for pure and hybrid spell users are doubled (1/* become 2/*)

It's okay for this two rules.

- Characters may purchase ranks on up to 5 different lists as normal cost, ranks for the 6th through 10th list cost x2 DP rank, ranks for list beyound the 10th list cost x4 DP per rank.
This rule sound strange for me. This limitation is "per level" ? or this is a permanent x2 or x4 post ? It's a permanent restriction, it's somewhat difficult for pure and hybrid users, isn't it ?

In one level, this system encourages you to purchase 3 ranks in 5 lists.

However, the "lists worked on" an change each level

Thus

L0 = no lists developed (focusing on other skills - the character's childhood/adolescence; would recommend things like hits, combat, climbing/swimming/riding/perception)
L1 = 5 base lists @ 3rd
L2 = 10 base lists @ 3rd
L3 = 5 base lists @ 6th, 5 base lists @ 3rd
etc ...

from then on, a pure spell user always has c. 10 lists "to level" and either a good number above level (for over casting or directed spell development ... for example, until you have firelaw to 6th level, you cannot start to develop the "fire bolt" attack skill )

A semi spell user will not be able to afford such a dev cycle, but should be able to maintain 3 or 4 lists "to level"

developing more than 5 lists per level is inadvisable ...

 The rule stats that in a level (not forever) if you buy a 6th list the DP cost is double (x2), if you buy 10 spell lists the DP cost is quadruped (x4) vs. the normal DP cost for a spell list.

 Example: Level 1 Spell List DP cost is 2*
 Spell list 1-5 DP cost is normal
 Spell list 6-9 DP cost is 4*
 Spell List 10+ DP cost is 8*

 Next level the same chart applies but the spell list can be different.

Does that help?
