Title: Unusual races movement rate
Post by: Samzagas on October 04, 2020, 10:54:48 PM
I've been reading the "Races & Cultures" book and one of my players it interested in play one of the centaurs, all is well until we realized that none of the centaurs have any modifiers to base movement rates or anything similar. The only thing similar is the fact that in the "GM Information" part of their stat block, their base rate is rather high, but that information is for when they are used as npcs.
Does this seems odd to anyone else? I feel that they should have a higher movement rate.

They do seem like they should be faster.

RMSS doesn't normally treat movement as a racial trait, but it seems reasonable to use the base move listed. Just bear in mind that base move already includes the modifications for stride and any racial quickness bonus. If you make further adjustments for stride and quickness, they should be relative to the average height for the race (not relative to the average human height) and just based on the quickness stat bonus (not any racial bonus).

I think in the past there was an errata page for RMFRP R&C and if not search of the forum might yield an answer.

I say this as I think this has come up before and I think there was an error in the book. If there is a huge difference (I am away from my books) then see if the Qu bonus was left out.
