Character Generator for pc..?
« on: September 17, 2009, 03:37:07 PM »
I'm looking for a character generator/manager/combat (pc) program. I mainly run RMSS, but have access to RM2, would like to find similar for Spacemaster & MERP conversions.

I've heard the Roleplaying Assistant is good, but it's primarily for D20.

Thanks

I've asked the same question on the Facebook page, but no replies yet.

For RMSS I in the past I use J Dales sheet in the Vault and I like it for PC gen. But I do not know of a program for RMSS/FRP to run combat. Now for RM2/C there is a program called Fantasy Grounds that should/might do all you are asking for. I do not play RM2 so i cannot help but I know there is a thread here: http://www.ironcrown.com/ICEforums/index.php?topic=9024.0 that might answer your questions.

Hi there & welcome to the forums.

Actually Fantasy Grounds does not do character creation.   Rather it is a virtual table-top for playing Rolemaster online with others as if you were all sitting down at a table together.

I would also suggest J Dales excel sheet in the Vault - Downloads (here on the ICE webpage).  It seems to be the most widely used.

Good luck!

I've got an Excel based character generator in the Vault, build for SpaceMaster 2nd ed, but it should do the job for RM2 as well. No combat support though.

I recently discovered that the menu is not very good in Excel 2007 (in the Ribbon), so I'm working on an update to improve that.

On my homepage you can find an OpenOffice.org-based spreadsheet for RMSS/RMFRP character creation.

For chargen, I use Rolemaster Character Management System (RCMS) by Bruce Gulke and later updated by Immo Koster. It is mainly for RMSS, I believe.. but isn't resisting much to change.

I've been heavily moding and hacking away at it to bring it online to my style of play/campaign. Without knowing Access, it's a fun project to pass the time. 8)
