just making sure about DB's vs Elemental attacks
« on: December 07, 2008, 09:51:19 PM »
Hi Everyone,

Quick question just to clear out the cobwebs.

If someone shoots an ice/fire/shock bolt etc... at somebody, the
targeted person uses their Quickness bonus, magic armor bonus, cover, shield,etc...
to determine their DB correct?  Since it is a physical attack ( albeit magically created)..

And all that applies to ball attacks as well?

Just making sure.

Thanks,

1) Essentially Yes, but Shield DB versus Directed spell attacks is less than for missile attacks, and IIRC,

2) Ball attacks -- no shield bonuses as it is an area attack (i.e. it gets behind the shield).

Awesome,

Thanks so much for the info:-)

I figured all that might be the case
but felt the need to confirm with those who know.

Many thanks,
