EA 10 "Dark Law" spell question
« on: December 03, 2008, 09:19:46 AM »
re:  Level five spell "Shadow Forms"

Quote
Shadow Forms ? Caster can create either the visual
illusion of shadow figures, or real shadows (up to 1
per level); the shadow figures will move when the
caster concentrates. The shadows cannot interact
with the environment. When the caster is not
concentrating, the shadow remains motionless.

Um....What's the difference between the illusion of shadows and actual shadows?  If I understand the rules regarding illusions correctly, An illusion spell which created shadows would create real shadows anyway.

Illusions of shadows would be for things not present in the location; real shadows would be for those actually present.

For example, going through a dungeon, you want to use the shadows to scare folks.

you use the illusion of a dragon's shadow (since there is no dragon there), or you can do real shadows and have them misbehave (think peter pan's problems with his own shadow).
