Vena Nascharath was so taken by Lord Ion Lydania, that she named her ferret after him... in such a way that people wouldn't catch on to quickly... right?

Well, references to Swink, Swinky The Wonder Ferret of the Galaxy and other variation of His name are dropped , more or less, almost everywhere in ICE production. After it's only a matter of knowledge of what these references means.

I was laughing at it last night. The only reason I got the reference was because I have a party in Swink (the city). Otherwise I would have rolled right over it.

And to just discover a 20 year tradition... is so me... =-)

It's kind of a dual homage/remembrance. I think Pete had a town named Swink in his old Middle-earth game, and I thought it was so funny I named my pet ferret Swinky. Swinky even lived at the ICE office for awhile, but he kept escaping his pen, skittering down the hall and digging up the sales manager's potted plants.

I  have kids for that. About 8 months ago, I started a new job, my youngest, 3 and 5 took it upon themselves to water my boss's plant. Did you know that most pots have holes in the bottom and that there is a water basin attached to each pot, and that each pot and basin can only hold so much water... heheh... can you say Mud wash! It was all over his desk, the floor and narrowly missed his laptop! Kids rock, how better to set the tone at a new job then to have my kids destroy the boss's desk.

Aaaahhh ferrets and kids, about the same IQ.

In my campaign, they substitute "Swink" for most jokes told about Cleveland or Akron.

Even turned it into my favourite monster zone. Thin walls if you will.
