Objects that burn
« on: July 09, 2023, 04:52:11 AM »
Does anyone know of a place in Rolemaster that explains any rules regarding how items burn and what effect they have? For example, after throwing a fireball, it is logical that some objects or clothes burn. It's part of the terrifying nature of fire.
Thanks in advance for any help!

I don't remember seeing any rules, but I think it depends on how long we think the fireball exists and if there's time for the objects in the area to reach their ignition temperature. Silk, hair and some other thin fabricks might be the first to go.

Not sure, but you could flavor the breakage rules to represent burning.
'Last of all, Húrin stood alone. Then he cast aside his shield, and wielded an axe two-handed'. --J.R.R. Tolkien

'Every party needs at least one insane person.'  --Aspen of the Jade Isle

RMU Spell Law has some discussion of it in section 10.6.
