I'm afraid I don't know much about the actual mechanics of the software.  John was the programmer in our group.  I'm more of a caveman type when it comes to computers.  One of the few things I do remember is the code keys were generated based on the date.  A given code was only valid for a day or two.

It is written in/for Filemaker, about which I know approximately nothing.  I have been hoping for a while now that some Filemaker guru from the gaming community would come forward and lend a hand with some of these problems.  We had the same problem with the PC version.  We never did manage to get rid of the code requirement, we just distributed a working copy that already had a code key installed.  If you know anyone with a working copy of the Mac version, I could use that for a similar distribution.

There are no copyright or similar issues with this, unless someone tries to sell the program.  John left me all the rights to the program when he died, and my intent is to distribute it as freeware.

I know John put a lot of effort into that program.  I also know he was a big fan of Apple computers.  I think it would be great if we could find a working Mac version and get it distributed.

I've emailed the chap that made the fixes on the HARP software, and asked on the board, let's see what happens.

if it can be made to work, I'll put the Mac version up along side the PC one.

;D Don't worry.  The nickname has more to do with poker than my size.  It's a long story.
