Although as the minimum size for a perfect bound softcover is substantially greater than 18 pages, I'm unsure as to how well an 18 page hardcover would work.

Cloudlords is 115 pages and it got a hardback edition; and Green Gryphon Inn is 84 pages. So the cut-off is obviously somewhere between 84 and 115. My proposal is that if there can be some blank pages inserted in the back of Green Gryphon Inn to reach the cut-off, and thus allow a hardback printing, why not do that? I'm sure there are more than enough potential buyers (even those who have already bought the softback) to warrant this. Can Mr. Caldwell and/or Mr. Amthor please sound off on this?

Perfect bound softcover appears to require 48 pages.

The documentation on RPGnow was much clearer once upon a time and there was a much higher minimum than currently "possible" required. We would want to be safely over 100 pages as both Tanara and Martial Law were for their hardcovers.

Best wishes,
Nicholas

Thank you, Mr. Caldwell, for responding. Okay, so, can some pages (titled "NOTES" or something) be added at the back of the book to break 100 and we can get our beloved hardcover printing? We're talking about maybe 10 total sheets (which would be 20 pages) here. Is it really that much trouble? This is something the fans would be in overwhelming favor of. Please let us know.

Thanks,
--Desty

Yes, here's another potential buyer.

Yes, here's another potential buyer.

Adding additional pages increases the cost. And for a hardback, the percentage of cost for the cover is substantially more than for a perfect-bound/paperback, so there might be some price shock. Also, with a spine that small, there is some question whether the printer can hit the spine text properly; it is too narrow for the perfect-bound and iffy for hardbound.

We are looking into the possibility. Please stand by.

We have put a hardcover master into OneBookShelf's process. If it survives their checks, then we will be able to order proof copies. Process is likely to take several weeks.

Just thinking: Is there any reason why Green Gryphon couldn't be submitted to the ENnies? It might help with exposure.

By the looks of it, you need to supply quite a few copies - six I think. Could be a bit pricey if they are physical books.

SUPERB!
Thanks so much.

I apologize if I come across as an arrogant jerk sometimes. I really don't mean to be. I just see something that doesn't make sense to me and I have to bring it up..... I just have an uncontrollable tendency to do it in a 'stir-the-pot' sort of way.

Thanks again, gentlemen, for making this happen,

Actually I just finished a round of very detailed edits and finished the index. We are just waiting on some new art.

Nice :-)
Bummer I already ordered the softcover. I guess I'll wait and order it along with the next SW release to save on shipping. (I'm in Germany)

Question for those of you who have purchased GGI: was the encounter table (p 9) helpful? As I work on Wuliris, I wonder if it would be worth including them for each area of the region...

I really like them. Having an idea about what lives in the local region is very handy.
