I have a new EW idea for SM:P. The idea is basically this a ship has a pool of EW points but a maximum number of points that can be spent on any one attack.
Example: StarShip A has 200 EW points and a max rating of 50, it has 10 EW operators in EW configured workstations.
Intercept Options: (only a few)
1) 10 attacks at 20
2) 1 attack at 50
3) 5 attacks at 40
4) 4 attacks at 50
Reason:
The reason I like this idea is it provides a reason to have more EW stations on a warship and some ships will carry a lot more EW than others to aid in interception in heavy torpedo environments.
Limiting Factors: (idea)
1) Limit max # of operators by hull and purpose in some way. So a military star ship would have more EW space than a cargo ship by definition.
2) Limit the amount of add on EW from basic hull design: So the hull was built in mind with an EW pool of XXX and so you can only add YY to it or if you want/can, upgrade the EW equipment of a better tec level to get a superior base pool of XZZ.
