Item use and parrying
« on: June 12, 2011, 03:26:11 PM »
Hey folks,

So if you have a device in hand (rod, staff, wand, daily, etc.) that you want to activate during a round, can you parry with whatever you may have in your other hand (sword, shield, barstool, etc.)?
Or do you only allow standard DB stuff (QU, armor, cover, etc.)?

Ciao,
Old Man

By the rules there is not enough activity left to parry with (since activating and casting a spell is 75% activity).  Even instant spells from items require 75% activity unless the item has sufficient intelligence to cast the spell itself.

If you like to calculate 25% of OB, a kind GM could allow it.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die.
