I have just noticed something when I was looking at the blog's stats.

On average the blog gets something like 40 unique visitors a day.

The day this site went down we spiked at 473 unique visitors. That says to me that the blog is only reaching 1 in 12 of the active Rolemaster community.

The average visitor spends 6 minutes on the blog so Mr or Mrs RM Player obviously finds something engaging.

If you are finding January a bit grim and grey and you are not a regular Rolemaster Blog reader could I ask you to spend just 6 minutes looking at some of the more recent posts and then tell me what you would like to see that we are not already providing?

I am pretty sure I know one thing already. We need more RMSS writers/commentators. I don't know that variety and do not play it so I cannot write about it.

If you have any suggestions then you either contact me though a PM on here, through the contact form on the blog or email me at weareallawesome@rolemasterblog.com

Finally, this is to Colin or any other admin. Looking back at that stat that we had 473 visits on the one day, people were desperate for information. If anything ever goes wrong with the site and you want to send me a statement to put out on your behalf then just email me.

I had seen the links in posts, but admit I'd never gone and read it. I'm skimming it this morning (at work...) and I'm bookmarking it. These are the kinds of conversations I have with my son all the time, about the philosophy and logic of game mechanics - either he'll be grateful I can direct those thoughts elsewhere, or he's going to be reading it, himself!

Nicely done, Peter!

Title: Contributors Wanted!
Post by: B Hanson on February 25, 2018, 09:41:42 AM
Since Peter is on vacation and I head out after him I thought it would be timely to put another shut out for writers and contributors to the Rolemasterblog. Obviously, there are many talented and experienced gamers on this Forum--many of whom have no issue with writing 500+ word posts and a variety of issues (I'm talking to you David!).

Not only would we like to see more blog contributors, our 50 Adventures in 50 Weeks projects has seen solid results with hundreds of adventure hooks sold. These are simple 1-5 page hooks, layouts, encounters or mini-adventures. These are a collaboration between Peter's Rolemasterblog.com and Azukail Games. http://www.rpgnow.com/browse/pub/6582/Azukail-Games (http://www.rpgnow.com/browse/pub/6582/Azukail-Games)

We still have another 33 weeks to go, but are in discussions to continue the 1/week pace and add new thematic lines like "Evil Adventures", "Monster Squad", "Sci-Fi" and "Holiday Themed" adventures. If you have ever wanted to publish this could be a quick and easy way to get involved. It won't make a lot of money--my share of the spoils has been about $50 in the last few months. That doesn't pay my rent but I used it to buy the hardcover Eidolon and some other SW pdfs!

Of course the goal is to broaden the Rolemaster community and the more activity and participants in a variety of channels only helps. Especially with the eventual release of RMU. After a decade or more of gaming, you must have thoughts, topics or issues you want to explore, discuss or rant about!! Or, dig through your folders, notebooks and scribbles; there must be a page or two adventure, cool place, clever encounter in there! Email Peter and get the conversation started.

I've got a bunch of stuff, but it is mostly rules mechanics hacks that are waiting for the RMU singularity (no point publishing rules hacks when the rules might change). These include:

--Alternative way of handling movement (charging AP for it)
--Updated individual skill costs
--Alternative stat generation
--Reactions in combat
--New classes: A Western (Channeling) Monk, the Monster Hunter (Witcher), the Samurai/Knight (Mentalism semi)
--New DnD Races (Warforged, Goliath)

Personally, I want to prioritize getting my houserules and system mechanics set; then after that turn to content.

It is cool isn't it. Craggles has offered to help with a template for the fanzine as well and we will be featuring his art there.
