Rather than completely necro this old topic (http://www.ironcrown.com/ICEforums/index.php?topic=7597.0 (http://www.ironcrown.com/ICEforums/index.php?topic=7597.0)), or others, I thought I'd start a new one.
Reading through that, there would seem to be interest in people buying a quarterly supplement. GCP would appear to be interested in publishing one. There's material that could be adapted to one (see the stuff B Hanson is publishing, and Terry had some content on his old site, and others probably have the same).
So, what would be required to actually get a, say, 10-20 page supplement published every quarter? Perhaps with print on demand omnibus editions once you get over 100 pages of content.

Express Additions were successful as a small periodically published product

That's the sort of thing I was thinking of. There was also Rolemaster quarterly I believe. At least, I seem to have bought PDFs of that somewhere.
It's something I think could work, if it gets started.

I have some 'Artifact of the Month' items from my old web site, and I could do the PDF layout with not much effort. We'd have to see what Nicholas thinks. I wonder if there is a way to have people sign up for a subscription, where they would get it delivered automatically. Someone would have to manage/edit it though, and get me sufficient material every quarter on time so I could produce it.
I'm all for it! Good way to keep interest up.

Yes, OneBookShelf has a subscription option.
I would think that for a regular supplement like this you wouldn't go in for much commissioned artwork. Either stock or provided by individual contributors. If it made it to a print on demand collection, I think that's when you'd commission art.
-
It would also be an effective way to develop writers internally. People like myself can dabble with smaller projects and build a portfolio before attempting larger projects.

Almost all the files I've put up are early v.1 without accompanying copy--I have updated versions that are closer to publishing that could be used. Plus I'm pulling most of this material from our own Master Atlas which is 340 pages (w/o illustrations or charts) so I still have quite a bit that could be used for a serial newsletter or series.

Here's some things I think would be good for such a supplement.
Anything like B Hanson has posted.
NPCs
Locations, such as small villages, hamlets or single shops (perhaps some in Sel-kai)
Short, one page adventures
New magical items, particularly those with a definite SW association (although perhaps not extremely powerful ones like Orbs of World Rending)
-
Happy to post up more material but would prefer it filtered through Terry for approval! I like many of you, only use the "Canon" material from TKA.
-
Yes, my thinking is that any submissions would get the nod from Terry before being published in a PDF. With minor stuff, there shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Unfortunately, I can't see us charging for material that Brian has already put up for free (just like I would not charge for the Grand Campaign or my Towers PDF). But there could be new and interesting custom spell lists.
I also like the idea of a shop, with an interesting owner NPC, maybe in Sel-kai but could be dropped elsewhere.
Or an isolated inn along a highway, where all kinds of things could happen. (Green Gryphon was originally supposed to be a small adventure like that and it kind of got out of hand)
And yes, Items should be more minor but unique things.
Nicholas seems to like the idea, but not a subscription. We'll need to see if we can com up with enough material...

Yes, I like B Hanson's specific spell lists. They're an interesting idea. Although he has said that he has versions that are quite a bit more polished than those he has shared.
If an official post is made asking for such material, I think there might be offers. One problem with a subscription of course if you have a deadline to produce a product at a specific time. Which isn't always easy when people have silly real life things ( :)) that get in the way.

I think it would be great to revitalize the franchise! But maybe look to work with Guild Companion to strengthen what we have rather than dilute effort

If something is developed, it's going to be an official GCP/ICE product, so no worries there.

I still have quite a few files I was going to post here but happy to hold off and see where this leads.
