Character Sheets
« on: September 19, 2007, 05:47:38 AM »
Hello
After playing my first three sessions of HARP with my group we do have one suggestion.  How about creating a character sheet that has the combat actions/maneuvers summarized on it so the players have all of their options set out before them?

I don't think a summary of those would fit on a character sheet. More likely, it could be done on a separate reference sheet.

Anybody want to volunteer to make such a reference sheet?  ;D

If you wait for me to do, you likely will have several weeks worth of waiting with all that I got going on.

I won't volunterr, sorry!  ;)
But Witchking, are you aware of the Combat Cards PDF?
I found that rather useful. A list of options might still be nice, of course.

I did see the combat cards, but was not sure what they actually did.

I will end up making a reference sheet for the players, and if it works out, I will pass it along to the masses.

I personally would re-work the 2 page character sheet to exclude or condense the equipment, weapons, & character notes to allow for a summary of at least the univesal combat actions (parry, full parry, dodge, sudden dodge....).  IMO, players are less inclined to try new things if the info is not readily available.  Players have way more down time than GMs, so let them decide before it gets to their turn.

Allright, Allright... I'll do it  ;D
Actually, I'm finished already - I've sent Tim a PM to approve of the file, I suppose he will put it into the vault if he does, and he'll probably either inform me or, more likely, post here when he's uploaded it. It's a single page - there simply are too many options to put it somewhere on a character sheet...

PS: I let out combat actions that require a minimum number of ranks to perform (a: 1 page seemed enough to me, b: if a player wants someone fighting that well, they should know their maneuvers) and Combat/ MA styles.

Great work, thanks for the table.
However have I missed it somewhere or is it a house rule that Full Perception and Drink Potion takes two rounds to complete ???

Hi,

thanks for the thanks! :) WoeRie, I took all the information from the combat cards. I can't say if anything there differs from rules elsewhere.
At least for Full Perception, it makes a lot of sense, because you have combat perception (0 rounds, -50), and quick perception (1 round, -20), so full perception needs to take longer than that.

Please also note that some of the rules differ when using different combat systems. Power Strike, e.g., works quite differently in Hack n Slash than in the core rules. I consider changing the PDF so that each description is editable. But not right now :)

Hi,

sorry, probably my bad - I still refer to everything HARP-downloadish as the vault. The file is in the downloads-section of the forum (NOT the harphq.com vault).
