Looking at dividing up the spells into schools/spheres and have casting characters use them as skills instead of having to invest ranks into each spell as if it were an individual skill. Then just having them buy the spells at 2DP per spell.

Or will this make them too unbalancing?

I'm wondering how that would affect "can I cast it?"? One way, it could lead to complicating DP spending. At the other end, it could make the caster too powerful at too many spells at the same time.
