Rolemaster Spell Lists
« on: May 27, 2014, 08:11:16 AM »
Hi Everyone,

I am news to this forum so I don't know exactly If I am posting In the good category. Don't hesitate to guide me If so.

We are 9 players of Rolemaster playing this game for about 2 years now. We have all the books In hand be we are tire of looking Into It each time someone cast a spells from different realm. Is there a website, place, ftp, etc.... where we can have only the spells list with the descriptions for all the spells In that game?? I know there a lot of spells and we try scanning our book but with no success.

So if anyone have any idea where we can get this, feel free to speak.

Regards

Welcome to the ICE Forums, DoomBusterFX; AFAIK such a place would violate the ICE copy right laws.

This isn't what you are asking, but what we do is for each player, photocopy every spell list they have, and put them in a binder for that player (along with character sheets and other info). That means each player has easy access to their own spells, and never has to wait for the book. It's extremely helpful.

If you buy the PDFs of the books, you can just print the relevant pages rather than photocopying them.

And for Rolemaster Standard System/FRP, you could do a computer search across the pdfs as they should all be text searchable. Just  have them in the same directory for ease of searching.

Best wishes,

I do the photocopy/print thing as well.  When we're not gaming online, that is.

We use the PDF versions of spell law (on tablets - all the casters have one) and also binders with spell print outs (mainly for me - I print out enemy spell-lists beforehand and ready them because I'm not a fan of fiddling with tablets during game time).
Seems like there could be a niche here to solve with software or some other tool.

I have the PDF version which I have saved and shared amongst the players in Dropbox. We can all access it at the same time on phones, tablets or whatever. I also copy out all the details of my favourite spells/ spell combinations so I can avoid the books and keep play going.

Didn't somebody also create a file that listed all RM and SM spell lists, and what books they are in? That might help the original poster. Sadly, I can't find it right now.

We are 9 players of Rolemaster playing this game for about 2 years now.
Do you actually run games with 9 players in it or do you divide up into multiple groups/campaigns?

Pulled from another of my posts elsewhere...

From the start with MERP, then RM, we took binders with dry erase sleeves and setup our characters.  That helps with combat speed.  We also have players look up all their own results so the GM isn't doing it all.  Of course, just having players that pay attention during combat is a huge factor in the first place.
1st/2nd pages are character info.
3rd/4th are skills.
5th/6th are combat sheet info and, if needed, experience tracking sheet.
7th/8th (and however many needed two page combos) are weapon or spell attack table and corresponding crit chart.
9th/Etc Then come the spell lists you know.

Hi all

I have recently uploaded a .pdf to the vault which is a list of all of the Rolemaster 2/Classic spell lists useful. Lists are sourced from the following ICE publications: •   Spell Law •   Rolemaster Companions •   Oriental Companion •   Spell-Users Companion    •   Combat Companion •   Alchemy Companion    •   Elemental Companion. Have a look at http://www.ironcrown.com/ICEforums/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item863

It doesn't list the actual spells (perhaps another project for another time ... suspect that this would take ages to compile) but at least this is a start.

Hope you may find it helpful.
