Guild Companion February 2012 (Issue 156)
« on: February 03, 2012, 04:23:00 AM »
Greetings from the Guild Companion; Issue 156 is available at www.guildcompanion.com.

This month we have, on the sci-fi side, the second half of Clint Fell’s Bughunter conversion to HARP.  On the fantasy side, we have part 11 of the Art of Fighting, which analyzes martial skills, and an article on creating new professions for RMSS.  Finally, there are a few, short words from the wise (guys).

I liked very much your take on professions. I had taken a stab at it earlier myself, but the affinities and the aptitudes provide some much-needed structure.

(PS: Magent is spelled wrong though. Spell-check to the anti-rescue I think.)

The professions article is the best since Irregular Realms.  Very well done.

You might want to fix the last paragraph of "Balanced Profession Design based on Affinities". The Magent is called "Magnet" twice.

I really liked the Profession Design article. Is there any chance you could create something similar for RM2/RMC?
(Maybe there is an existing article in previous issues, but I can't recall any)

Doubtful, there are too many distinct skill costs in RM2.  The profession design article relied on the more limited number of skill categories.

You need to include a link, I know where to look, but many may not.
